Masthead Madness is where alumni pride meets real impact. Every gift helps invest in the next generation of student journalists, editors, creators, and newsroom leaders. Along the way, mastheads, boards, and class years will compete for bragging rights, rally their networks, and help the DP continue its championship tradition in College Media Madness. Most of all, this is a chance for alumni to come together around something that matters: opening doors for students and strengthening the future of independent student journalism at Penn.
A huge THANK YOU to the first donors who helped us raise the initial $3,500 to Get the team to Greenville! Covering the NCAA Tournament in person is a life-changing opportunity for our student journalists, giving them the chance to report on one of the biggest stages in sports, build real-world skills under pressure, and create memories and experience that will shape their careers for years to come.
Masthead Madness is back, and this year our goal is clear: Raise It All!
In 2026, we are raising $40,000 for the Eric Jacobs Scholarships Fund to provide 20 scholarships of $2,000 each for deserving Daily Pennsylvanian student journalists. These scholarships help remove financial barriers and make it possible for talented students to participate fully in the work of the DP, 34th Street, and Under the Button.
